Long-time news anchor Jennifer Copeland recently made the difficult decision to leave WSBT after 15 years of dedicated service. This decision left many viewers wondering why she chose to leave and what her plans are for the future.

Jennifer Copeland Has Left WSBT After 15 Years

After working for 15 years at WSBT 22, Jennifer Copeland decided to leave the station to take a step further in her career. In her goodbye message to WSBT audience, she said,

“The news is never easy to deliver. When it’s personal – it’s even harder. Today is my last day here at WSBT 22. I am overwhelmed with emotion when I think about how much I am going to miss this place, MY WORK, my co-workers, and YOU.

I have been so honored to tell your stories over the years and be part of your lives in a way that quite honestly is SUCH a blessing. I’ve had the privilege of being here at WSBT for 15 years. And while I LOVE everything about what I do here, this decision is personal. I’m excited to spend more time with my daughters. So while this is bittersweet, I’m leaving with gratitude, a ton of memories, and one final thank you … to YOU.”

WSBT stated that the station did not want her to go, but Jennifer decided to take her career in a new direction.

A New Story at WBND (ABC57)

After leaving WSBT, Jennifer Copeland decided to join ABC57 affiliated WBND. In her welcome statement, she said, “I’m thrilled to continue doing what I love in the community I love. My daughters have grown up here, and I’m so thankful for the beautiful balance ABC57 brings to my life.

I get to be the kind of mom I want to be and work with a tremendously talented, experienced team. This is where I want to be,” said Copeland. “Storytelling is my passion. I’m excited to show you ‘why’ I fall in love with the stories I tell. Discovering the ‘why’ in others is the most valuable and real part of any story. It’s a privilege to know it and share it.” In simple words, she joined ABC57 to balance her personal and professional life.
